Malawi VP Jane Ansah Urges Cabinet to Innovate Revenue Generation Amid Global Financial Shifts
Vice President Jane Ansah has called on Malawi’s cabinet ministers to develop more innovative and creative ways of generating financial resources, as global financial patterns continue to shift.
Speaking at the 2025 Cabinet Retreat in Mangochi, organized by the Government of Malawi in collaboration with UNDP, Ansah emphasized that the gathering is “not just routine, but a strategic meeting aimed at tackling the real conditions of our economy, our people, and our politics.”
She noted that the changing landscape of international financial support — increasingly favoring geopolitically strategic regions — necessitates greater domestic innovation for investment and sustainable growth, particularly for developing nations like Malawi.
The retreat has brought together all cabinet ministers, development partners, and senior government officials, providing a platform to deliberate on strategies to strengthen the nation’s financial independence and economic resilience.
