First Lady Hosts 2025 Presidential Dinner for Security Sector

The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, alongside her husband, hosted the Annual Presidential Dinner for the Security Sector 2025, bringing together key personnel across the nation’s security institutions in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

‎Speaking during the dinner, the First Lady, who also serves as President of the Organization of African First Ladies for Development (OAFLAD), emphasized the indispensable role of security in national development. Drawing from her extensive travels across Africa and beyond, she noted that no nation can progress without peace, no school can function without stability, and no democracy can thrive without disciplined men and women committed to service above personal comfort.

‎The dinner provided an opportunity to pause, reflect, and appreciate a year of tireless work that often goes unseen, yet profoundly benefits the nation. As the year draws to a close, the First Lady expressed hope for continued unity among security institutions, stronger institutional support, and peace within the homes of those who serve.

‎She encouraged attendees to take a moment to relax, enjoy the meal, and share fellowship with colleagues, acknowledging the demanding nature of their responsibilities.

‎On behalf of the women and children of Sierra Leone, and in her personal capacity, the First Lady extended heartfelt gratitude to all security personnel for their unwavering commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to the Republic. She concluded with prayers for God’s blessings upon them, their families, and the nation at large.
