CHRO-Gambia Partners with IHHNL to Distribute €59,000 Worth of Iftar Food to Gambians

Over 1,900 individuals received essential supplies recently – each getting a 10kg bag of Macaroni, 10kg of sugar, and 3 liters of cooking oil. Additionally, 176 orphans and underprivileged children were gifted with clothes for this year’s Eid celebration.

CHRO-Gambia, the organization behind the initiative, also plans to provide Iftar meals for 1,000 beneficiaries throughout Ramadan, with Madrassas in the Greater Banjul Area also set to benefit.

Speaking at the event held at Tallinding Arabic Islamic School ground, Musa Jallow, the country director for CHRO-Gambia, highlighted the organization’s mission. Established in 2000, CHRO-Gambia aims to assist those in need through various charitable initiatives.

Jallow explained that their efforts involve collaborating with both national and international entities to support vulnerable members of society during Ramadan and other Islamic festivals. Their interventions include providing food aid, clothing, school materials, and medical services to orphans and needy individuals.

Recently, CHRO-Gambia also supported 200 beneficiaries in Talokoto with similar supplies. Jallow expressed gratitude to their partners from the Netherlands and Turkey for their humanitarian support, emphasizing the importance of mutual assistance during Ramadan.

He also extended appreciation to the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in The Gambia for their continued support.
